Fishing After a Hurricane

What you see here, is a trip we took down to Alligator Point on Florida’s Forgotten Coast. After riding Hurricane Hermine out on the hill, we decided to drive down to the coast to assess the damages. At the beginning of this film, around the 15-second mark, you can see that Hermine claimed the only road on the point, which caused an interesting detour. Folks were forced to lock it down into four-wheel drive and create their own route to their homes.

Northwest Florida blue crab trap closure ending early

Recreational and commercial blue crab traps may be placed back in state waters (shore to 9 nautical miles) from the Florida/Alabama state line through the Franklin/Wakulla county line starting Wednesday, Jan. 11.
Traps had to be removed from the water as part of a 10-day closure that started Jan. 5, but this closure ended early because efforts to remove lost and abandoned traps have been completed.
